San Francisco Shift Calendar
San Francisco Office – 900 Pennsylvania Ave, San Francisco, CA 94107

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Please read through for information on our volunteer efforts related to COVID-19. We encourage you to prioritize your safety - please only serve if you are completely comfortable volunteering at this time.

We remain fully operational. Food banks have been highlighted as essential services similar to a grocery store. As such, we plan to continue to do the work to get food out into the community.

To help protect the health of volunteers and staff we are:
  • -Requiring all volunteers to wear a facial covering. Unfortunately, the Food Bank is unable to provide masks at this time.
  • -Cutting non-essential activities and reducing the number of volunteers at each shift. Only critical volunteer projects like packing senior boxes and grocery bags delivery to homebound neighbors will continue.
  • -All other best practices – cleaning surfaces regularly, providing hand sanitizer, wearing gloves, and making masks available – still apply.
For safety reasons we can only accept volunteers who registered in advance.

Please review these new guidelines from the City and County of San Francisco before volunteering with us.

The online calendar below reflects our most up-to-date reservations. A zero correctly indicates that shifts are full and no spaces are available at the moment. Groups often modify their reservations so please check back as spaces may become available.

Shifts are currently available for the months of May, and June. Due to ever-changing conditions from the COVID-19 crisis, we will be opening shifts on a much more short term basis.

During weekdays, our minimum age is 11. On Saturdays, our minimum age is 8. Every child aged 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. We require at least one adult for every 5 middle school students and one adult for every 10 high-school students. For safety reasons, we cannot allow any exceptions.
